How can I submit a session?

The first step to submitting a session is to register as an attendee. Once you have purchased your ticket, you will see a "Submit a Session Proposal" link at the top right of your screen. Click that link, and fill out the form.

Please note: For this Camp, you should submit only sessions that you would like to give. If you have an idea for a session that you would like to see someone else give, we recommend posting a discussion to the NYC Drupal Group to see if anyone wants to take on the topic.

When submitting your proposal, you'll need:

  • A snappy title
  • A solid description of your session's purpose, audience, and content.

Submission tips

Here are some suggestions for putting together your session proposal:

  • Think about what you would have liked to have learned, before you knew it. What drove you nuts until you figured it out?
  • Remember that there's more to Drupal than modules. What do you know from the worlds of building, theming, project management, and so forth?
  • Give your readers a "So what?" What problem does your session solve, and why should they want to solve it?
  • If you have some idea of the specific subtopics your session will cover, tell us! This is the clearest way to express what makes your session special and what people will get out of it.
  • Do you already have content--blog posts, other presentations--on this topic? Post links to give examples of the kinds of information they'll be getting from your session.
  • Think actionable...is there something in your session that people will be able to walk right over to the Hacker Room, or into work on Monday, and use?
